Thank you for visiting Northern New Jersey Cachers (NNJC), a non-profit geocaching organization. NNJC is one of the most respected geocaching organizations in the country. The purpose of our organization is to promote, communicate and provide general information about the growing sport of geocaching in New Jersey. Please join and become part of the geocaching community in New Jersey. Please register using only your CURRENT GEOCACHING NAME (ID), as it is on geocaching.com, otherwise your name will not be accepted. Here's an event cache that offers something unique beyond the meet-and-greet or the wine-and-dine this winter. In a repeat of last year's event we will enjoy a little winter outdoors!! Join fellow geocachers for this unique event cache – a winter nature hike.

DATE: Saturday, February 6, 2010 TIME: 10:00 AM Hike begins PLACE: Buttinger Nature Center of the Stony Brook-Milstone Watershed Association That's right, you're not in Kansas anymore! Join us for this hike on the Reserve of the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association. Hike out onto the Reserve with Naturalist and Education Director Jeff Hoagland, getting an insider’s view of winter. Bring binoculars or field guides if you wish as we explore forest and meadow. The hike will be followed by, just in time to spoil your lunch, some hot cider and apple cider donuts. To claim this cache you will have to join (and enjoy!) the nature hike which will be less than two miles. Hike will be adjusted for weather conditions. You will learn about winter ecology - meeting winter birds, searching for voles, looking for signs of fox, admiring winter weeds, and other crazy things naturalists do.

NNJC Members Corner

Cache of the Month
Because NNJC exists to help promote geocaching in northern New Jersey on behalf of YOU, the GEOCACHERS, we want to make sure you have a voice in YOUR club!

We want to know what caches out there are deserving of designation as NNJC's Cache of the Month. The only criteria are that it has to be located in northern New Jersey, and was placed during that month. Please send all nominations to topcache@nnjc.org, along with a description of your experience and why you feel it's the Cache of the Month.


Photos & Videos
We also want to include your caching photos and videos to highlight your experiences in northern New Jersey. Please send submissions to media@nnjc.org along with a descriptive blurb or caption.
