The NNJC officers met in the parking lot of Ramapo Reservation with the goal of placing special geocoin vouchers inside the Gerbil Cache (GCC8) to give something back to the geocaching community. This special geocoin was to commemorate the very first geocache placed in New Jersey on November 25, 2000. The goal was to physically place 100 special geocoin vouchers into the Gerbil Cache, so that when a cacher finds the cache, they can take and redeem the voucher for the limited Gerbil Cache geocoin.

The project was a huge success, with the last voucher found on June 2nd, 2007. Congratulations to everyone who made the hike up into Ramapo Mountains to find New Jersey's oldest geocache, Each was rewarded by NNJC with a limited edition Gerbil Cache geocoin.
